So it’s a Sunday in January. It’s cold, it’s raining and nobody has time except sweet Lotte.

What are you doing on such a day? Hang out on the sofa? Watch TV? Bake something? Have a gaming day?

I would get all jittery if I had to spend a day like that and for me it would have zero relaxation. My hands always have to do something. And preferably something creative.

So today I paint! Dim Dschazifa, my adventurer heroine that I play in our pen & paper round.

I started with some sketches to look first in what direction the picture should go. After that I had a more precise idea and created a pencil sketch. When it was finished I started with the coloring.

The technique of my choice is a mixture of watercolor, crayons and markers.
Unfortunately, the yellow background was so dry too quickly that the salt, which I have sprinkled on it has given no effect. Normally it gives a great structure, which reminds a little of blossoms. Or ice flowers.

Well, that went wrong! Nevertheless I continued with Dim’s skin. With the hair and the clothes, until it has become dark outside in the meantime.

In the end I thought about adding gold leaf, but somehow I never get it to look very nice. So I painted the gold accents with acrylic. No comparison, but also quite nice!

In the end, Lotte and I got the day well around this way and in the evening we had no more guilty conscience to bum on the sofa. What more could you want? =)
