Is there something wrong in the neighborhood?
No, quite the opposite!

Because actually no children have lived here in our village so far, so that neither at Saint Martin’s Day nor at Halloween (two traditions that have now merged into each other! More about this in my blog post This is Halloween) someone came ringing at our doorbell to ask for sweets (or better to threaten: “Trick or treat!”).

But that has changed now!

Lina’s and my cousin Maren moved in with her family just a few houses down from us, so we’re basically living door to door now! (YAY!)

Maren’s son Tammen is still too young to go out in the evenings, but her daughter Greta (my great cousin) and her best friend Toby are just the right age for it!

So Maren set off with the two of them. Not without letting the other villagers know beforehand, so they wouldn’t be completely blindsided and left with no candy!

And what great candy they got!

Finally, a Halloween that felt like it to me too!

Yours Luise
